5v5 FLAG FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT DETAILS AND RULES

USA / NFL FLAG FORMAT RULES

    • 5 vs 5 on the field

    • Minimum players to start: 4

    • Recommended roster size: 7–12 players

    • Maximum players allowed per team: 12

    • Ball starts at the 5-yard line

    • No kickoffs

    • No punts

    • 4 downs to reach midfield

    • 4 downs to score after midfield

    • Turnover on downs if unsuccessful

    • Touchdown = 6 points

    Extra Points:

    • From 5-yard line = 1 point

    • From 10-yard line = 2 points

    • QB can run only if rushed

    • 4-second pass clock

    • 1 forward pass per play

    • Laterals/backward passes allowed

    • 1 player in motion allowed

    No Run Zones:

    • No running inside 5 yards of midfield or end zone

    • Rush line = 7 yards from line of scrimmage

    • Rush immediately or delay

    • Man or zone coverage allowed

    • No illegal contact

    • 2 Pop Flags must be on hips and clearly visible.

    • MUST BE POP FLAGS

    Play is dead when:

    • Flag is pulled

    • Ball carrier steps out of bounds

    • Knee touches the ground

    • Ball hits the ground

    • Players can dive to pull flags

    • Ball carriers can spin and juke

    • Aggressive flag attempts allowed

    • Tackling

    • Wrapping up ball carrier

    • Pushing or shoving

    • Holding clothing

    • Reckless or dangerous contact

    • Interceptions are live

    • Can be returned for touchdowns

    • No contact blocking

    • Screen blocking only

    • No pushing or initiating contact

    • Offsides = 5 yards

    • False Start = 5 yards

    • Holding = 5 yards

    • Pass Interference = 10 yards

    • Unsportsmanlike Conduct = 10–15 yards

    • 28+ point lead = running clock continues

    • Game may end early if both teams agree

    • Ball placed at 10-yard line

    • Each team gets 1 possession

    • Continue until winner

    • Mouthpieces recommended

    • No metal cleats

    • Head Gear Optional but Recommended 

    • Teams bring their own flags

    • Elite Sirius Sports will provide backup Flags per field

    • Flags must be properly secured 

    • Must be “POP FLAGS ONLY”

    • No Altered Belts

    • Refs will check before each game

    • Teams bring their own footballs

    • Elite Sirius Sports will provide backup footballs per field 

    • All footballs must match the required size for their division

    • Game officials will inspect and approve all footballs prior to play

    • Teams Must Wear Their Own Team Uniforms

    •  “Teams must return any and all of “ELITE SIRIUS SPORTS EQUIPMENT” used after each game”

    • Single Player Sign ups will receive a jersey from Elite Sirius Sports

    • 4 Games Guaranteed
